JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. ---------Please note: this position not available for Remote work/Teleworking--------- JOB SUMMARY Essential Functions/Duties An Engineering Technician V provides support to the engineering and design staff through performing a variety of non-routine and complex assignments during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications. Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties: --- Serve as senior/lead technician and assists in the training of other technicians --- Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at the company and client sites --- Perform or coordinate test and evaluation, check-out, and certification tasks --- Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems --- Design and write test procedures, critiques, and system test procedures and assist in the development of upgrades and enhancements --- Implement engineering change instructions --- Investigate system problems and provide white papers on the results of the investigation --- Prepare recommendations and solutions on system problems to include alternate testing to verify change --- Train others in the operation and performance of the system(s) --- Establish and maintain filing systems, databases, and logs for tracking project status and inventory --- Assist in providing the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks --- Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures --- Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements --- Coordinate and supervise a team of employees for a given job with the responsibility for scheduling tasks and monitoring technical and employee performance --- Support engineers in the development of technical proposals and provide input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work --- Provide technical support that is recognized outside of the company services as one of the few industry or discipline experts --- Use established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence --- Perform other job-related duties, as required. Desired Knowledge & Experience --- Experience with Link 16 Requirements Education, Technical, and Work Experience Vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution, or equivalent military training and a minimum of 10 years of job-related experience are required for this position. In addition, an Engineering Technician V must possess the following qualifications: --- Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs --- Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software --- Excellent communication and analytical skills --- Planning/organizational skills --- Ability to direct the work of others under deadlines. A Little about Point Mugu Point Mugu is a picturesque naval base on the Pacific Coast in western Ventura County, situated about 50 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles. It is known for its Mediterranean climate and its status as a protected wetland. Point Mugu is a part of a beach Community along the original Pacific Coast Highway (U.S. 101). The inhabited portion of Ventura County also includes numerous towns including Oxnard, Camarillo, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Fillmore, Ojai and Santa Paula. All within a 25-minute commute of Point Mugu. Aside from its beaches, the area is a mix of agriculture, small industry, and residential areas. The weather is mild pretty much year-round, offering a comfortable climate with an added dose of sunshine. When the graceful grey whale makes its annual migration from Mexico's warm waters to the Arctic seas, Ventura County is one of the best locations for whale watching in the country. You'll find some of California's best surf breaks in Ventura County. smaller waves breaking pretty much year-round. The base has direct access to good surfing and it's just a short drive to famous breaks like Rincon and Silverstrand. Beaches in Ventura County aren't just white stretches of sand dotted with bright umbrellas and sunbathers. Try any of the many local state beaches, to find great birdwatching, camping, surfing. There are miles of hiking trails that weave through and around Ventura County. the Channel Islands are the one of the least-visited National Parks in the entire nation, despite being one of the most stunning and ecologically rich. The park's Visitor Center is located right in the Ventura Harbor, giving locals prime access to all the beauty the park has to offer. Other Responsibilities Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job. Working Conditions Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required. Travel to remote company work locations may be required. The expected pay range for this position is 63,648.00 to 73,195.20 anually. The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
