Associate Director, Clinical FP&A will be the primary business
partner to our clinical organization, responsible for all aspects
of budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, ad-hoc financial
analysis and reporting. In this role, they will work closely with
clinical leadership to plan, develop and execute the organization's
clinical roadmap, ensuring resources and funds are available for
all clinical trials and efforts. The successful candidate must be
comfortable managing through influence, challenging the status quo,
distilling complex financial concepts into easily digestible
messages and managing through uncertainty while supporting a
fast-paced organization. This new role will report to the Sr.
Director of FP&A.RequirementsEssential Duties and
Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with senior leadership to define, build and
deliver the needed financial strategy and resources to ensure
successful planning and execution of Vividion's clinical
trials.
- Lead all modeling, budgeting, forecasting and reporting across
all clinical functions including internal resource allocation,
external vendor and CRO management, annual budget cycle planning,
rolling forecasting, long range strategic planning and
monthly/quarterly/annual variance analysis.
- Build, enhance and maintain complex financial models, analyses
and dashboards to support key decision making in support of
Vividion's clinical trials.
- Monitor and report on the financial performance of clinical
programs, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Prepare materials for senior management financial reviews,
including all presentation materials, templates, and related ad-hoc
requests.
- Support all clinical strategic business initiatives including
the structuring and evaluation of potential partnerships, (In/Out)
licensing and acquisitions.
- Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with key
counterparts including but not limited to HR, Accounting, IT,
Procurement and other functional business owners.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and
regulatory requirements.Experience and education requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or
Economics; MBA a plus.
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience in a mid-size
biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life science or medical device
company, with at least 3 years in a clinical setting.
- Advanced MS Excel skills (financial modeling, complex lookup
functions, pivot tables, etc.) as well as proficiency with other
Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint) required.
- Demonstrated skills in preparing forecasts and producing
accurate financial and operational metric reporting.
- Proactive, responsive and timely problem solver with superior
analytical skills, outstanding project management capacity, acute
attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written
communication skills.
- Ability to bring people together to work collaboratively in a
cross functional manner.
- Experienced, resourceful team leader with a desire to develop
others.
- Possess relevant knowledge of financial and accounting
concepts, as well as familiarity with the biotech industry.
- Experience using enterprise business systems and applications
such as Adaptive Analytics, Workday, Jaggaer procurement, etc.Pay &
Benefits:The anticipated base salary for this position ranges from
$170,000 to $190,000 depending on relevant skills, competencies,
experience, and education. In addition, this position is eligible
for target bonus, long-term incentives, 401k retirement savings
plan with company match, and a comprehensive benefits package which
includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability
