Radiologic Technician/Medical Assistant -Job ObjectiveThis
position is responsible performing x-rays for diagnostic purposes,
taking x-rays of patients' internal anatomy to aid physicians in
diagnosing illnesses, diseases, or injuries. Explain x-ray
procedures to patients and ensure that patients are exposed to
limited amounts of radiation, while following established
radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and
safety.Coordinating the care of the patient from escorting patient
to exam room, performing vital signs, preparing patient for exam
and discharge and for ensuring the accurate documentation of
patient care activity. -Reports toOffice Manager, Chief Operating
Officer, Medical DirectorSupervisory ResponsibilitiesN/A
-Qualifications
- Education
- Required: California CRT, California Fluoroscopy license, and
American Heart Association BLS.
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
certification
- Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant course completion.
Experience
- Required: 2-4 + years of clinical experience in radiology

- Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Safety practices, excellent customer service, computer literate
(including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of radiographic
equipment
- Ability to operate within operate within radiologic standards
of care.
- Excellent people skills in initiating and maintaining positive
work relationships and the ability to deal with difficult and
stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as in a team
environment.Essential Responsibilities
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance
policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or
concerns and report suspected violations.
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures-Escort patients to
dressing and x-ray
- rooms, provide verbal and/or written instructions and assist
patients in positioning correctly for Radiologic procedures.
- Performs within the scope of practice for the professional
license held.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure patient care,
safety and comfort during scan.
- Operate radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for
diagnostic purposes.
- Take x-rays following established radiologic requirements and
regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to ensure
safety of patients and team members.
- Ensure radiologic equipment remains in working order. Report
equipment malfunctions to Office Manager or supervisor.
- Perform related administrative duties including completing
necessary forms, notes and maintaining procedure logs.
- Retrieve radiologic orders from and input related data into the
electronic medical record.
- Ensure confidentiality, always maintaining patient, team
member, and employer confidentiality.
- Following standard work, assists patients to exam/procedure
rooms; obtains medical and social history, vital signs, height and
weight, allergy information, medication reconciliation information
and records data in EHR.
- Assists providers so that appropriate preparation, examination,
and diagnostic testing occur without error and without delay.
- Processes patient referrals to other provider offices.
- Prepares patient EMR charts timely and accurately.
- Gathers reports, labs, studies or other data pertinent to
upcoming patient appointments.
- Places order for films, labs and other studies as appropriate,
timely and accurately.
- Collaborates with patient scheduling and schedules patients as
needed.
- Answers all patient questions and requests timely and
appropriately.
- Faxes and copies necessary information to insurance companies,
other provider offices and other facilities as necessary.
- -Records information accurately and timely in EHR.
- Responds to patient pharmacy requests in collaboration with
providers
- Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
