The successful candidate must have a thorough knowledge of both HIPAA and GDPR compliance policies and understand how to implement them effectively within a company. They will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the HIPAA Compliance Program and provide annual training and speak with authority to clients about compliance requirements.

HIPAA Compliance
--- The person appointed or designated the role of a HIPAA Compliance Manager must have a thorough knowledge of the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and the solutions available that will allow him or her to develop a HIPAA compliance program.--- Once a HIPAA compliance program has been developed, the Compliance Manager should document progress towards its implementation. In order to achieve this, a system should be created that enables the Manager to monitor the status of the organizations HIPAA compliance.--- The system should allow the HIPAA Compliance Manager to prioritize efforts towards compliance and communicate priorities. It should also act as a conduit through which compliance concerns can be raised and organizational changes coordinated.--- The HIPAA Compliance Manager is responsible for developing training programs and executing training courses. These should be designed to help employees understand HIPAA compliance and how any changes implemented will affect their specific duties.--- The HIPAA Compliance Manager is responsible for monitoring HHS and the states regulatory requirements. When new regulations or guidelines are introduced, the Manager must adjust the organizations HIPAA compliance program to reflect the changes.
GDPR Compliance
--- Acting as the point of contact on GDPR compliance activities with internal teams. Identifying and evaluating the company's data processing activities. Providing advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
Information Technology Risk and Compliance
--- Proactively auditing IT systems and ensuring data privacy and security. --- Provide training to the internal team to ensure all compliance policies are followed. --- Proactively identify any risks in the infrastructure and create mitigation strategies. --- Able to develop risk management processes and workflows and then train and coach users of those workflows;--- Experience with all aspects of regulatory, industry, and contractual compliance, especially Privacy, Payment Card Industry (PCI-DSS), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), and Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements for as they relate to IT.
What you'll need to be considered:
--- 3 to 5 years' work experience in HIPAA/GDPR/IT compliance --- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.--- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate requests and instructions to individuals and groups (both internal and external)--- Commitment to, and enthusiasm for compliance both written (SOPs) and IT system-related--- Possess flexibility and adaptability to manage unexpected deviations from plans--- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively within the team and the organization --- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, solve problems, manage and meet deadlines and maintain a high quality of work --- Possess a personal presentation that reflects a professional image and the values of the organization --- Ability to prioritize and coordinate the delivery of multiple tasks
