JT4 provides engineering and technical support to multiple
western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint
Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. We
develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training
environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft,
weapon's systems and air crews for today's missions and tomorrow's
global challenges.

--- RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION JT4 is seeking a Sr. Level Software
Developer to maintain an existing C++ baseline application that
utilizes MFC Libraries and OpenGL for graphics display. Incumbent
will also be a part of the development team that will refactor
existing SW baseline to C# and implement new features/
requirements. Desired Knowledge / Experience:
--- Expert level skills with C++ with MFC, OpenGL, and C#
--- Understanding of Agile Software Development processes
--- Experience in software requirements development
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
As the group lead, provides technical expertise and guidance to
unit personnel involved in conversion of data from project
specifications and statement of problem and procedures to create or
modify computer programs requiring and applying advanced,
comprehensive knowledge of programming techniques and computer
systems.
--- Individually analyzes, designs, codes, tests, implements and
maintains complex computer programs/systems and produces technical
documentation.
--- Converts project specifications into a sequence of detailed
instructions and logical steps for coding into a language readable
by computers, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques
and computer languages.
--- Contributes technical input and guidance in the design and
documentation of the most complex computer programs.
--- Uses computer-aided software tools, such as flowchart design
and code generation, in each stage of system development.
--- Operates computer systems to check out programs, troubleshoot
and test systems.
--- Monitors performance of programs after implementation.
--- Analyzes, reviews, and alters computer programs to increase
operating efficiency or to adapt to new requirements.
--- Prepares documentation to describe program development, logic,
coding, and corrections.
--- Develops user manuals to describe installation and operating
procedures.
--- Provides technical assistance to program users as required.
--- Provides work direction to subordinate department or work unit
employees.
--- Performs related work as required.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and
specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental
requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to
their job.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional
lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the
computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing
documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for
communication, and constant mental alertness.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Computer Programming or equivalent technical
training from an accredited academic institution, completion of a
recognized certification program, or equivalent experience and
demonstrated skills, knowledge, and technical competence in
computer programming. Possess 12 years of additional related
experience which included supervisory responsibility. Must have
demonstrated proficiency with required computer languages and a
good understanding of computer systems including networks, servers,
and personal computers. Must possess planning and organizing skills
and must be able to work under deadlines. Must possess verbal and
written communication skills to permit interaction with other
employees. Must qualify for and maintain a government security
clearance and possess a current State issued driver's license. A
Little about Point Mugu Point Mugu is a picturesque naval base on
the Pacific Coast in western Ventura County, situated about 50
miles west of Downtown Los Angeles. It is known for its
Mediterranean climate and its status as a protected wetland. Point
Mugu is a part of a beach Community along the original Pacific
Coast Highway (U.S. 101). The inhabited portion of Ventura County
also includes numerous towns including Oxnard, Camarillo, Port
Hueneme, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Fillmore, Ojai and Santa
Paula. All within a 25-minute commute of Point Mugu. Aside from its
beaches, the area is a mix of agriculture, small industry, and
residential areas. The weather is mild pretty much year-round,
offering a comfortable climate with an added dose of sunshine. When
the graceful grey whale makes its annual migration from Mexico's
warm waters to the Arctic seas, Ventura County is one of the best
locations for whale watching in the country. You'll find some of
California's best surf breaks in Ventura County. smaller waves
breaking pretty much year-round. The base has direct access to good
surfing and it's just a short drive to famous breaks like Rincon
and Silverstrand. Beaches in Ventura County aren't just white
stretches of sand dotted with bright umbrellas and sunbathers. Try
any of the many local state beaches, to find great birdwatching,
camping, surfing. There are miles of hiking trails that weave
through and around Ventura County. the Channel Islands are the one
of the least-visited National Parks in the entire nation, despite
being one of the most stunning and ecologically rich. The park's
Visitor Center is located right in the Ventura Harbor, giving
locals prime access to all the beauty the park has to offer. The
expected pay range for this position is $89,475.90 to $161,432.04
annually. The salary range offered for this position is a good
faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
