Robert Half is in need of an Accounting Clerk for a company in the Government industry who is experienced in supporting a department. The Accounting Clerk duties will include matching invoices to purchase orders/ vouchers, data entry, and assisting with Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary position based in the Malibu, California area.Your responsibilities- Work with Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing- Post financial information to journals and ledgers- Standard accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects- Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required- Codify documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes- Contribute to Accounts Receivable: help with collection of past due balance, process daily invoices/credit, and apply cash receipt- Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources Requirements - Familiar with Spreadsheet and ERP system- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred- Microsoft Excel experience- Accounts Receivable (AR) experience- Data entry experience preferred- Code Invoices experience desired- Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)- Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
