Paul Getty Museum seeks to inspire curiosity about, and enjoyment and understanding of, the visual arts by collecting, conserving, exhibiting, and interpreting works of art of outstanding quality and historical importance and is one of four programs of the J. Paul Getty Trust. The Museum operates two facilities, the Getty Villa in Malibu, which exhibits its collection of Greek and Roman antiquities, and the Getty Center in Brentwood, which displays its collections of European art: Medieval and Renaissance illuminated manuscripts, paintings, sculpture, decorative arts, drawings to 1900, and photography to the present day (including non-European works). - The Museum mounts approximately 25 temporary exhibitions a year across its two sites; maintains an annual permanent gallery improvement program and offers wide-ranging and ambitious programming for its visitors. - -The Opportunity -The J. Paul Getty Museum seeks an organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated individual to provide administrative and logistical support to the Public Programs department. Reporting to the Senior Education Specialist, the Public Programs Coordinator is located at the Villa and supports public program activities at both the Getty Villa and Getty Center. Under moderate supervision, this position assists in all aspects of public programming including scheduling, facilitation, and coordination while also providing administrative support. - This includes coordinating on-site, virtual, and hybrid educational programs for adult audiences that are designed around the Gettys permanent collection and special exhibitions, with a primary focus on ancient Mediterranean cultures. -Some evening and weekend work is required.Major Job Responsibilities

• Collaborates with Getty colleagues and external presenters in organizing lectures, panels, and symposia, whether on-site, virtual, or hybrid -
• Provides logistical and technical support to presenters on-site and online
• Supports Zoom webinars as liaison between programming team, presenters, and support staff
• Creates and maintains production schedules and event calendars
• Generates purchasing requisitions, supporting documents, and payments to speakers and vendors
• Coordinates travel, accommodations, and reimbursements for visiting speakers and staff
• Writes promotional copy for different media
• Helps design and edit PowerPoint and Keynote presentations
• Assists in preparing recorded lectures for posting online: verifies image rights, meets standards for citations, checks closed captions
• Prepares audience surveys, consolidates responses, and summarizes results
• Writes program summaries and tracks statistics for quarterly reports
• Incorporates best practices for diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in program planning Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree
  • 1-3 years of project/process management and/or event planning experience as well as administrative experienceRequirementAll employees must be fully-vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus as a condition of employment.     • Proficient computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software, digital platforms, and email applications Microsoft Office, Photoshop Elements, Media Management Database, PeopleSoft, Survey Monkey, and Zoom
    • Communicates clearly with people at multiple levels
    • Integrates ongoing office administration into a project-driven workload
    • Handles last-minute changes and troubleshoots urgent situations
    • Enjoys creative thinking and collaborating with others
    • Experience working in a museum environment and/or the arts is preferred
    • General knowledge of classical antiquity and art history a plus
