If you have experience in mental health treatment or other group care environments and the ability to build rapport with adolescents, this position offers you some great opportunities. You will:

  We have multiple opportunities available for weekend Program Assistants, so feel free to share this information with your qualified peers. Shifts are 12 hours each on Saturday and Sunday, either 8 AM to 8 PM or 10 AM to 10 PM. You'll work the same shift both days. This is an hourly position beginning at $18 per hour.Your QualificationsTo be a good fit for the Program Assistant opportunity, you will have:
  
  • A high school diploma or GED.
    
  • 1+ year of experience in the social services field(group home, childcare, medical assistant, etc.). We may also consider candidates with college coursework in psychology, social science or similar.
    
  • A genuine desire to work with adolescents.
    
  • An understanding of counseling and other treatment procedures for mental health disorders with co-occurring substance abuse issues; knowledge of regulations concerning mental health treatment.
    
  • A valid California driver's license and current car insurance.
    
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    
  • Basic computer skills, including Internet, email, and MS Word.
    
    In addition, you must be at least 21 years of age and pass a background check, live scan, physical and TB test to work at the facility.The RoleYou will provide rehabilitative support regarding the care of a co-occurring population, ensuring that clients and staff have what they need to follow the lead of the Clinical Directorand Program Director.We're well organized and there is always someone to reach out to for support, should you need it.
    Each shift will include general daily activities (i.e., waking clients, providing hygiene baskets, monitoring from a distance, doing chores, ensuring meds are taken, etc.) and special activities, such as onsite parent visits and 3 to 4-hour outings.Beachside Teen Treatment Center is a tranquil, rehabilitation haven for adolescents struggling with addiction, substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
