JT4 provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. We develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and air crews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. ---------This position is not available for Teleworking--------- JOB SUMMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Provides support to the engineering and design staff by performing a variety of more complex or non-routine assignments during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications. --- Installs, monitors, and services equipment and systems at the company and the client sites. --- Assists with the test and evaluation, check-out, and certification tasks; performs validations/verifications of various electronic systems. --- Reviews Engineering Change Proposals for equipment impacts. --- Assists in accomplishing Engineering Change Instructions. --- Develops technical/engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, drawing updates, operation procedures, and maintainability improvements. --- Supports systems engineering activities with subject matter expertise. --- Establishes and maintains a filing system, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory. --- Assists in providing the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed. --- Complies with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specification, and test procedures. --- Provides technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements. --- Serves as a senior technician and assists in the training of other technicians. --- Supports engineers in the development of technical proposals and provides comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work --- Uses established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence. --- Performs related work as required. RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION Inventory technician tasks and responsibilities: Activities related to ordering, receiving, storing, tracking and distributing materials, equipment and supplies. --- Data entry and maintenance of files and records using appropriate software. --- Perform annual physical inventory of equipment and parts, as assigned. --- Operate a forklift, pallet jack, or pallet lifter, as needed. Operations and maintenance technician tasks and responsibilities: Work under general technical guidance, possessing experience in ground-based electronic systems. --- Works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices by performing a combination of the following: installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, troubleshooting, modifying, construction and testing. --- Operates and maintains electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems. --- Applies technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment. --- Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and effects repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition. Manipulates computer keyboards and views and interprets computer displays. --- Troubleshoots to the component level and makes needed repairs. Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested. PREFERRED SKILLS: --- Understanding of RF and GPS receivers/transponders --- Previous experience soldering --- Background with inventory management OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job. WORKING CONDITIONS Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE Level II: The incumbent must have vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution or military equivalent training and at least 3 years of job-related experience. Level III: The incumbent must have vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution or military equivalent training and at least 5 years of job-related experience. Level IV: The incumbent must have vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution or military equivalent training and at least 7 years of job-related experience. The incumbent must have excellent communications and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and perform work under established deadlines. This position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. Incumbent must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and must have a valid, current state driver's license. A Little about Point Mugu Point Mugu is a picturesque naval base on the Pacific Coast in western Ventura County, situated about 50 miles west of Downtown Los Angeles. It is known for its Mediterranean climate and its status as a protected wetland. Point Mugu is a part of a beach Community along the original Pacific Coast Highway (U.S. 101). The inhabited portion of Ventura County also includes numerous towns including Oxnard, Camarillo, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Fillmore, Ojai and Santa Paula all within a 25-minute commute of Point Mugu. Aside from its beaches, the area is a mix of agriculture, small industry, and residential areas. The weather is mild pretty much year-round, offering a comfortable climate with an added dose of sunshine. When the graceful grey whale makes its annual migration from Mexico's warm waters to the Arctic seas, Ventura County is one of the best locations for whale watching in the country. You'll find some of California's best surf breaks in Ventura County, and smaller waves breaking pretty much year-round. The base has direct access to good surfing and it's just a short drive to famous breaks like Rincon and Silverstrand. Beaches in Ventura County are white stretches of sand dotted with bright umbrellas and sunbathers. Try any of the many local state beaches to find great birdwatching, camping and surfing. There are miles of hiking trails that weave through and around Ventura County. The Channel Islands are the one of the least-visited National Parks in the entire nation, despite being one of the most stunning and ecologically rich. The park's visitor center is located right in the Ventura Harbor, giving locals prime access to all the beauty the park has to offer. The expected pay range for this position is 63,648.00 to 73,195.20 anually. The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay.
